Stainless steel angles from ZEMSS are supplied as hot-rolled equal-leg and unequal-leg sections in 304, 316L and 2205 duplex, sourced from major Chinese mills under the GB standard system with full mill documentation. From our Taiyuan facility we add cut-to-length, mitre cutting, drilling and weld preparation, so sections arrive ready for assembly rather than raw stock.

International Grade Equivalents
Angles are supplied to Chinese GB standards — the table below maps our grades to international designations for your drawings and specifications:
| Grade we quote | GB designation | UNS | ASTM / AISI | EN number | JIS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 304 | 06Cr19Ni10 | S30400 | 304 | 1.4301 | SUS304 |
| 316L | 022Cr17Ni12Mo2 | S31603 | 316L | 1.4404 | SUS316L |
| 2205 duplex | 022Cr23Ni5Mo3N | S32205 | 2205 | 1.4462 | SUS329J3L |
Chemical composition and mechanical properties on each delivery are verified against the mill certificate, so an ASTM-specified order is satisfied by the equivalent GB grade with documented proof.

Surface Finish Options
| Finish | Description | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| As-rolled | Mill finish with light hot-rolling scale | Concealed structures, painted frames, cost-driven work |
| Pickled & passivated | Scale removed, passive layer restored | Food and pharma structures, coastal exposure, unpainted frames |
| Polished (satin / mirror) | Brushed or 8K polish on visible faces | Architectural angles, handrails, exposed design features |
Mechanical Properties (annealed condition, ASTM A276 equivalent)
| Grade | Yield strength ≥ | Tensile strength ≥ | Elongation ≥ |
|---|---|---|---|
| 304 | 205 MPa | 515 MPa | 40% |
| 316L | 170 MPa | 485 MPa | 40% |
| 2205 | 450 MPa | 620 MPa | 25% |
Grade Selection Guide: What We Recommend
| Grade | Key characteristics | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| 304 | Best cost-performance of the three; excellent forming and welding; good atmospheric corrosion resistance | Indoor frames, brackets, equipment supports, food-processing structures without chlorides |
| 316L | Molybdenum-alloyed for chloride and pitting resistance; low carbon keeps welds safe from sensitization | Coastal and outdoor structures, chemical and pharmaceutical frames, washdown environments |
| 2205 duplex | Yield strength roughly double 316L with better pitting resistance; lower nickel content | Offshore and desalination structures, heavily loaded members where thinner sections are needed |
Typical Applications
- Structural frames and supports for equipment, platforms and mezzanines
- Machine frames, conveyor frames and brackets
- Handrails, balustrades and architectural features (polished finish)
- Frames for food-processing and pharmaceutical plants (316L)
- Marine and coastal structures, desalination plant frames (2205)
- Edge stiffeners and reinforcement members in fabricated assemblies
Fabrication & Value-Added Services
- Cut-to-length and mitre cuts to your drawings, with burr-free finishing on polished material

FAQ
What tolerances do stainless angles carry?
Standard hot-rolled dimensional tolerances per GB/T 706 (comparable to ASTM A276 practice). Machined tolerances are available on request for critical fit-up surfaces.
Do angles ship with certificates?
Yes — every delivery carries the mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1 type) with heat-number traceability, covering chemistry and mechanical properties.
Can you cut and drill angles to my drawing?
Yes. Cut-to-length, mitre cuts and drilled hole patterns are standard services from our Taiyuan facility, so you receive assembly-ready sections.
What is the minimum order?
One piece per size for fabricated orders. Full-bundle quantities (typically 3–5 tonnes per section) receive mill-direct pricing.
Which grade should I choose for outdoor use?
Inland atmospheric exposure: 304 is usually sufficient. Coastal or de-icing-salt exposure: 316L. Structural members in seawater splash zones carrying high loads: 2205.
