Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger — Custom Fabrication to ASME & PED
ZEMSS fabricates stainless steel heat exchangers for chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, and HVAC applications. Design and fabrication is performed at our Taiyuan facility to ASME Section VIII Division 1 or European PED 2014/68/EU, with full hydrostatic testing and non-destructive examination (NDE) documentation. Grade selection is matched to process media — 316L for most chemical and food applications, 2205 duplex for higher pressure or severe chloride environments, and 904L for concentrated acid or highly oxidising media.
If you have a heat duty specification (flow rates, inlet/outlet temperatures, fluid properties) but no detailed drawing, our engineering team can size the exchanger, propose a configuration, and submit a GA drawing for approval before fabrication begins.

Key Capabilities
- Tube-to-tubesheet jointing — Tubes expanded and/or seal-welded into tubesheets. Full-penetration tube-to-tubesheet welds available for zero-leakage applications (pharmaceutical, high-pressure, toxic media).
- High-pressure capability — Shell-and-tube exchangers fabricated to ASME VIII Div.1 for tube-side and shell-side pressures up to 10 MPa. Tubesheet thickness calculated per UHX rules.
- Cryogenic service — Impact tested plate and tube material for service to −196°C (liquid nitrogen equivalent). Charpy impact test certificates provided.
- Engineering sizing service — Provide heat duty (Q, kW or BTU/hr), fluid inlet/outlet temperatures, flow rates, and fouling factors. Our team sizes the exchanger, selects tube count and pass arrangement, and submits preliminary drawing for review.
- Bimetallic construction — Carbon steel shell with stainless tube bundle reduces cost while maintaining corrosion resistance on the tube (process) side. Common in large industrial condensers and coolers.
