PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Stainless Steel Boiler Fabrication — Steam Drums, Vessels & Components
ZEMSS fabricates stainless steel boiler pressure parts, steam drum shells, hot water vessel bodies, and associated nozzle assemblies for industrial process, food, pharmaceutical, and utility applications. Fabrication is performed to ASME Section I (Power Boilers), ASME Section VIII Division 1 (Pressure Vessels), or European PED 2014/68/EU, with full weld qualification records, NDE inspection, and hydrostatic test documentation.
We supply complete boiler vessel shells, individual pressure parts (heads, shells, nozzle assemblies), and replacement components for existing equipment. Grade selection follows design temperature and fluid media: 304 for clean steam and hot water below 870°C continuous, 316L for steam in contact with process chemicals or chloride-bearing feed water, and 310S for sustained high-temperature service above 800°C.

Grade Selection for High-Temperature Service
| Grade | Max Continuous Temp. | Key Characteristic |
|---|---|---|
| 304 / 316L | 870°C | Standard boiler shell and drum material. 316L selected for process steam contact. |
| 321 | 870°C | Ti-stabilised. Resists sensitisation at 425–900°C. Better than 304 for cyclic temperature service. |
| 310S | 1,100°C | 25% Cr / 20% Ni. Superior oxidation resistance at very high temperature. Used for combustion chambers, furnace components adjacent to boiler drums. |
Key Capabilities
- ASME Section I & VIII fabrication — Full code fabrication including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) on file. Manufacturer’s Data Report (MDR) issued with each code vessel.
- Weld quality control — All pressure welds performed by qualified welders to ASME IX procedure. Radiographic testing (RT) of longitudinal and circumferential seams per code requirements. Hydrostatic pressure test at 1.5× MAWP as standard.
- Replacement parts and repair — Fabrication of replacement shells, heads, nozzle inserts, and tube-to-tubesheet repairs for existing boilers. Material traceable to original code specification. Repair documentation to NB-23 (National Board Inspection Code) on request.
- High-temperature insulation jacketing — External ceramic fibre blanket insulation with stainless steel cladding panels. Reduces surface temperature to safe touch levels and maintains thermal efficiency.
Applications
- Food processing — Steam generation for cooking, blanching, sterilisation, and CIP/SIP process lines
- Pharmaceutical — Clean steam generators and associated steam drum vessels for autoclave and SIP supply
- Chemical — Steam for process heating, reboilers, and solvent recovery column reboilers
- Textile & laundry — Industrial steam for fabric processing, pressing, and drying operations
- District heating — Hot water boiler vessels for building or district heating network heat sources
- Power & utilities — Waste heat recovery boiler shells, feedwater heater vessels, deaerator columns
Why Source from ZEMSS
- Code fabrication capability — ASME Section I and VIII fabrication in one facility. Enables export to ASME-recognised markets without local re-certification.
- In-house NDT — Radiographic, ultrasonic, and dye-penetrant inspection performed at the fabrication facility. Reduces third-party NDT coordination and lead time.
- ISO triple certification — ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001, certified by China Classification Society (CCS), IAF-recognised.
- Replacement parts accepted — Single nozzle assemblies, heads, and shell sections supplied for repair of existing equipment.
- Export experience — Regular shipments to Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia. FOB Tianjin or DDP available.
