310S stainless steel plate is the standard heat-resistant austenitic grade for high-temperature service — stable up to about 1,040 °C continuous, with excellent oxidation resistance and no embrittlement issues of ferritic heat-resisting steels. ZEMSS supplies GB-standard 310S plate from major Chinese mills with full mill documentation, plus cutting and fabrication from our Taiyuan facility.

The high chromium-nickel content (25Cr-20Ni) is what gives 310S its oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength — and its premium over 304/316L.
Performance & Selection Guide
Choose 310S when: continuous operating temperature exceeds what 304/316L can tolerate (roughly 870 °C+), and the atmosphere is oxidizing — furnace parts, kiln furniture, heat shields, burner components.
Consider 321 instead when: temperatures sit in the 500–850 °C band and thermal cycling is frequent — titanium stabilization adds protection against sensitization; see our 321 plate page.
Welding note: 310S welds readily with matching fillers; keep heat input moderate. For fabricated assemblies, see our welding process guide.
Typical Applications
- Furnace linings, kiln furniture, heat-treatment baskets and trays
- Heat shields, radiant tubes and burner parts
- Boiler and heat-exchanger high-temperature sections — see our boiler and heat exchanger fabrication
- Exhaust and flue components at elevated temperature
- Glass and ceramic processing equipment
FAQ
What is the maximum service temperature of 310S?
About 1,040 °C continuous in oxidizing atmosphere; intermittent service slightly higher. In reducing or carburizing atmospheres the limit depends on gas composition — send us the service conditions for advice.
310S or 321 — which for my temperature?
Roughly: below ~850 °C with thermal cycling, 321 is often the better-value choice; above that, or for maximum oxidation resistance, 310S.
Is 310S magnetic?
No — as a fully austenitic grade, 310S is non-magnetic in the annealed condition.
Do plates ship with certificates?
Yes — mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1 type) with heat-number traceability.
Can you fabricate 310S?
Yes — cutting to size, forming and welding from our Taiyuan facility, including high-temperature assemblies.
